The American economy over the last couple of years has been in a state of affairs that will be put in the history books. Leaving loads of people dealing with personal financial crises. We have witnessed millions of foreclosures with more no doubt; unemployment is growing with every passing month. To add insult to injury credit card debt is skyrocketing and so is the delinquency rates on those cards. This is leaving most debtors feeling like the lone option for debt reduction they have is to simply file for bankruptcy. But many people are not educated to all the derogatory aspects of filing for bankruptcy.
To begin with having a bankruptcy on your credit report is very negative. In most situations this adverse remark will remain on your report for up to a decade. Consequently making the opportunity for you to obtain future credit very difficult. Most debtors don’t comprehend this before filing for bankruptcy.
Another very bad and often ignored fact about filing for bankruptcy is that it will always be a public record for the remainder of your life. This you can’t mask! If ever asked the question on a credit or job application about filing for bankruptcy you by law must say yes. Often times the bankruptcy attorney will not mention this little bit of knowledge to the debtor.
However there is a solution if you are looking for credit card debt relief and would like to avoid bankruptcy and that solution is debt settlement. The debt settlement process can help people to save a lot of income on what they currently must pay their creditors. Plus the amount of time saved by doing debt settlement is mind blowing; in many cases it will take just a few years. The monthly payments are usually much less than what was being put out as minimum payments and this is a blessing to the consumer. If foregoing bankruptcy is possible then do so, the time consuming bad aspects will be a problem in the years to come.
