sage accounting software

Accounting is for accountants and what’s frustrating is they want to keep it this way, so it’s hardly suprising that individuals similar to me who run a small business and cannot and don’t want to afford an accountant found the shortcut I want to give to you here. Most managers I know in startups want to devote their time to targeting customers and making sales instead of doing accounting. Bookkeeping is one of those arduous tasks that very few people enjoy doing but has to be undertaken on a consistent basis to avoid issues.

I asked my bookkeeper for direction and he convinced me I should use Sage Software which turned out to be a small business accounting software package. I immediately went out and bought the application without even contemplating if it was the right choice. On reflection I am relieved I didn’t waste too much cash on this as this software is possibly the most badly designed and most complex application I have ever been faced with. OK my first piece of wisdom is that whenever you see the words accounting software proceed carefully as it probably means the vendor is assuming you understand a great deal about accounting.

I had to find a solution that worked for me so reluctantly I found space in my diary and set aside quality time to find a solution. It was really worth doing this as I found a more useful solution than I could ever of imagined called salesorder.com.

This is possibly the easiest software I have ever used and what’s more it is web based and therefore I can access it from anywhere I choose to work. Better still and the third piece of advice I want to tell you is that the team who work at salesorder.com are not just very knowledgeable of their software but they know a tremendous amount about the problems of operating a small business and have taught me the accounting I need to know.
